Summer of 2008

Suddenly I became radical. Too much of too little created U-turns with burning tyres. I look around while searching for my own revolution, revelation and re-evaluation. Back to the roots. How did it all start...trying to remind myself...was it inspiration? Engagement? Divine excitement? Or was it a combination of all that? Or was it just the fact that I couldn’t play a guitar, sing a song or rave around like a real rockbitch? That I’ll never become a rockstar...I make art instead. Is it that simple?

Stay tuned. I love you. All of you.

December 2007

I finish this year with an agreement to make an exhibition at Les Salaisons www.salaisons.org in Paris 2008. Looking back at 2007 it was…fruitful. And I’m healthy. Still excited inside.

November 2007

This month I took a personal record since I had 3 films screening in Amsterdam, Moscow, Berlin and Paris in one week!

Doors went to the 19th Feminist and Lesbian Film Festival in Paris, a 100% womens festival (also audience!).

Credits was selected to the 2nd Amsterdam Film Experience 2nd-4th of November, in the section Personal Stories. And this independent art-video also went to Moscow in the Perversongs program, again curated by Laurent Quenehen. The rumours said that the Russians couldn’t handle the programe, they thought it was too pervert...pervert video-poetry? But it’s about love?!

But the biggest surprice was to hear that De Zone, my graduation film from the Dutch Film & Television Academy, was selected to the Interfilm Festival in Berlin. No idea of how it got there...miracles do happen.

October 2007

Credits will be screened in Paris in the Nuit Blanche program, October 6. Doors will be screened at the 1st Future Shorts in Amsterdam, October 21 at Cinema O301.

September 2007

In September 2007 I’ll be filming and making interviews at the Robodock festival in Amsterdam that is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary. Check out www.kinokast.net/robodock.html or www.robodock.org for visuals, trailers and footage that we have shot from previous years.

Doors is going Latin! All the way to the Spanish Culture Centre in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Beutiful Frenzy will be screened in France again. Still going strong.

July 2007

Doors is going to Athens for the second time, this time to the 1st Gay and Lesbian Festival in Athens!

June 2007

In June 2007 I’ll be going to Artoll, an artists in residency in Germany together with Body Weather Amsterdam, where I’ll explore the boundries and relationships between cinema / video art and dance / movement.

May 2007

On May 5 2007, W139 Basement in Amsterdam will open up it’s third edition, where I’ll participate with Amour Fou. An installation, photography, text and mixed media is part of this body of work that is commenting and reflecting on sex, desire and love. I will also make a performance, Yellow, about art and love, love and art. It’s a 25 minutes piece including spoken word, movement, visual arts and voice.

On May 9 and 13 two short vido art works, Credits and For You will be screened in Paris in a program called Le Bleu de Ciel and Perversongs curated by Laurent Quenehen.

March 2007

On March 16 the Skipperboetlek collective will organize an evening in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam where two short films of mine will be screened; For You # 1. and Credits / It’s Over. It’s two little stories about love. Or rather, the loss of love. And yes,
I will also make a performance called White in the Van Gogh. It’s a poetic piece with absurd and humoristic elements.

Doors started to live a life of it’s own and went to Bilbao after Liverpool, this time unfortunately without me.

January 2007

Beautiful Frenzy keeps on rocking, after Brazil it will go to the cinematheques in Bergen and Trondheim in Norway, to be followed by a remote town in Canada.
